we’ve been in the game over 100 years
Our History
Throughout The Years
Specializing in concrete slab, I-beam span bridges, bridge overlays, bridge repairs, and pile driving.
Cunningham-Reis, established in 1914 by Chester W. “Chet” Cunningham and Paul Reis, originated in Des Moines, IA. In 1923, we proudly joined AGC of Iowa as a founding member, a commitment that endures over a century later. Remarkably, we stand today as an original member still in business in the State of Iowa.
In 1968, the company was acquired by Earl Anderson, subsequently passing into the capable hands of his sons, Roger and David. In the mid-1980s, Cunningham-Reis relocated to its new home in Van Meter, Iowa.
While building bridges is our primary business, our evolution has been dynamic. Specializing in concrete slab, I-beam span, bridges, overlays, repairs, and pile driving, we have adapted to industry demands. In 2018, we became a division of the Manatt’s Family of Businesses, propelling our trajectory toward sustained growth and prosperity.
With unwavering dedication, Cunningham-Reis remains steadfast in our mission to build bridges across Iowa. We merge our rich heritage with a forward-thinking approach, ensuring unparalleled quality and service.
We are committed to fostering growth and longevity for all the Communities we serve, forging connections that endure and propel progress for generations to come.
